Welcome to PGR: Under the Hood, where we analyze some of the more interesting stats that our favorite game has generated. Keep in mind that stats do change, so some of this information will be out of date in the near future.

That’s Billion, with a K.

As of this report, 10 out of 25 nations have become proud members of the Billion Kudos Club. Canada, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Japan and the Rest of the World each have racked up more than one billion Kudos points, with the United States and the United Kingdom boasting two billion a piece. Singapore is bringing up the rear of the Kudos train, with nearly 130 million.

However, before you start making jokes at Singapore’s expense, bear in mind that its drivers (roughly 460) average more than 264,000 Kudos points per driver. Compare that to roughly 74,000 Kudos points per U.S. driver and about 52,400 per U.K. driver.

As we noted last time, Singaporean drivers tend to race cleaner than the drivers in Western countries. Clearly, they are also doing more with less when it comes to the art of Kudology. Congrats, Singapore.

Oh, Come On Now

A few keen-eyed PGR fans (as well as the hard-working PGRologists we have on staff) noticed the amazing feat of Canadian racer Mr. Baconater, who recently posted a top speed of 394 mph. However, if you check the Canadian breakdown now, you’ll see that number has since been pulled. Canadian racer ST165 has the honors now, with a top speed of 273.

If you thought Mr. Baconater was a speed demon, though, check out Finland’s Devil McPeter, who owns the wildly improbable record speed of 1,648 mph. Of course, we doubt the validity of this record, unless DM unlocked a car made out of red kryptonite, nitrous oxide, and Halley’s Comet. We here at PGRNations are looking into the exact cause of that ridiculous top speed. We will let you know more when we know more.

Until then, we are crowning Mexico’s BMR Diablo Pang as this week’s top speedster, at 294 mph. For the rest of the pack, it was a tight cluster from the 260s to the 280s.

But 1,648? C’mon.

What the Cool Kids Are Driving

Want to make the grade in the Catch Me If You Can races in Arcade Mode? According to the Leaderboards, you need to use the Corvette Stingray or the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV. If you like to bike, then your weapons of choice for top honors are the Buell RR 1200 or the BSA Gold Star DBD34. If you’d like to give these vehicles a practice spin, you can select them in a test solo race in the Custom Match feature.

As for the talent side of things, you either have it or you don’t.

That’s it until the next edition of PGR: Under the Hood. As always, we invite you to chat in the forums. See you on the track.
